In Chicago, for example, deep-dish pizza is a popular style that features a thick, buttery crust and is filled with cheese and toppings. In California, a thin crust pizza topped with non-traditional ingredients like barbecue chicken or goat cheese is popular.

Pizza is a delicious and versatile dish that can be made in many different ways. Here is a simple recipe for making a basic Margherita pizza:
Ingredients:
1 lb. pizza dough
1 cup tomato sauce
8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
Salt and pepper
Olive oil
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 450°F.
Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/4 inch thick. You can also use a store-bought pizza crust if you prefer.
Transfer the dough to a lightly greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
Top the sauce with the sliced mozzarella cheese.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Drizzle olive oil over the top of the pizza.
Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Sprinkle fresh basil leaves over the top of the pizza before slicing and serving.
